Impact Story: Angie’s Journey

For most of her life, Angie carried a quiet ache. The kind that comes from being told by a director, long ago, that she “couldn’t sing.” It sank deep, the way those wounds do. It shaped how she saw herself as a musician… and for years, it kept her small.

But then she walked into BIG.

What she found wasn’t just a choir. It was a community that felt where she felt brave enough to try again. Brave enough to do it scared. Brave enough to heal.

In her own words: “I never would’ve auditioned for a solo in my entire life. Now I do it even if I don’t get it because I’m doing the thing that’s hard, and I’m doing it scared, and I’m doing it anyway.”

Every rehearsal, she felt something shift. Her confidence grew. Her voice strengthened. She started receiving compliments she never imagined she’d hear - not because she woke up suddenly fearless, but because she felt supported enough to take risks.

She told us, “You are bringing me so much healing as a singer and a musician. My confidence is growing, and I need you to know that. I have felt safe in your space. You are helping me heal.”

And today, as she reflects on her journey, her gratitude is grounded and clear:

“BIG is a safe place. Egos are checked at the door. It’s so authentically human when you enter a BIG space. I’ve grown as a singer and as a performer, and I owe it to this community.”

Angie’s story is why BIG exists.

Healing. Growth. Courage. Community.

A place where adults rediscover the joy they thought they’d lost — and reclaim the voice they were always meant to have.
